LESSON OF THE DAY

LESSON OF THE DAY: YOU WIN SOME YOU LOSE SOME!

I just got back from doing my weekly Publix trip which did not got exactly as I had planned. I had a $5 off $50 Target grocery coupon and a $5 of $25 Save-a-Lot coupon that they would not honor because they were "not on there list of acceptable competitors." Now the Target coupon I quickly accepted as a loss because it was clearly shown on their "list" of unacceptable competitors. However, the Save-a-Lot coupon was on neither list and there is a Save-a-Lot location about 5 minutes away from the Publix where I was shopping (which I think may acutally be the only Save-a-Lot in the area). I asked the cashier to get the manager and he still said they could not accept the coupon because Save-a-Lot was "not on the list." I did try to argue my point for a few minutes, but when I realized I was getting no where I gave up, and as I was waiting in line to get a rain check for the yogurt they were out of I realized that "you win some you lose some!" They accepted my $2 off $5 produce coupon from Giant (although I don't think there are even any Giant stores in the whole county, maybe even in the state)! You can't get every deal every time; occasionally some things aren't going to work out and that's ok. I still saved more then I spent and all in all had a successful trip, so instead of being irritated I say "you win some you lose some!"
